Lindis River Pinot Noir

Our original wine, Lindis River Pinot Noir, flowed from the 2004 vintage. It is the signature wine of this property. As the vineyard has matured since it was planted in 2000 we learned where to find the fruit to give us the flavour profile for this wine. The Lindis River spends up to 12 months in French oak barrels. It rewards aging and will develop more complex characters while doing so. Hence, we normally release this wine with up to one year bottle age.

Winemaker (Dean Shaw) notes

"The 2013 Lindis River shows bright, vibrant, spicy, redcurrant and dark forest fruit aromatics. It is a warm, richly textured wine with soft tannins and a persistant finish."

The Wine Advocate (Robert Parker), issue # 216, 30/12/2014

"Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2013 Pinot Noir has earthy notes of damp loam and mossy bark over a core of red cherries, cranberries, lilacs and cinnamon stick. Tons of expressive flavors fill the palate with red berry and earthy layers. Beautifully ripe and yet packed into an elegant medium bodied package, it provides a medium level of fine grained tannins and has great persistence with some mineral notes coming through at the end."
