When we planted our vineyard in 2000 we decided to create a “little Burgundy” within the vineyard. Vines in one small block were planted one metre apart with one metre wide rows. Everything in there needs to be done by hand, literally “one by one”, and of course, as with the rest of our vineyard, organic practices are employed.
In 2006 we made a small batch from these grapes and aged the wine in three barrels for 18 months. The extra time allowed all components to integrate fully. The result is a highly varietal wine which impresses with its elegance and balance, rather than simple fruit flavours and toasty oak components.
The limited amount of Lindis River “One by One” will only be made available to the restaurant trade and directly to the public through our website. Please contact us via email, info@lindisriver.co.nz, for more information.
